Evidence: Expert opinion

There is a version of technology journalism in which the reviews are indistinguishable from the ads. This publication will not be that version.

Every Future Chronicle review is scored against a public rubric. Vendors do not see the review before it is published. Vendors cannot buy inclusion, buy a higher score, or buy removal. Advertising and sponsorship sit on the far side of a formal firewall that no editor crosses.

The commercial cost of that firewall is real. The alternative — being useful to buyers rather than to vendors — is the only version of this business that is worth doing.
